How to Create More Freedom in Your Coaching Biz

Imagine waking up every day excited to dive into your coaching business, knowing you have the freedom to focus on what you love most. Sounds like a dream, right?

It doesn’t have to be.

In this blog post, I'm sharing 5 powerful strategies that have revolutionized my coaching business, providing me with more freedom and simplicity than I ever thought possible.

1. Releasing the “I wanna (can) serve everyone”

After 2 years in my business, I finally niched down to helping health and wellness coaches build their successful online coaching business.

Releasing the other niches I had interest in actually helped me create a more simple and clear business and made EVERYTHING, from creating content and offers, to marketing those offers and landing paying clients.

That alone freed up so much of my time and energy while creating more focus and ability to land paying clients.

Sure, you can be multi-passionate or serve more than 1 niche. I’ve just found that choosing 1 niche, but serving that 1 niche in different ways has allowed me so much more time freedom in my business.

2. Investing in support

Hiring my first business coach in 2020 helped me gain so much clarity and confidence in my business, that I have since invested over $50,000 in business and marketing coaching, programs, courses, and masterminds.

Having support, proven strategies, community, and accountability is an absolute non-negotiable to sustain and grow my business year after year.

3. Hiring a team

When I hired my first Virtual Assistant in 2021 to do my social media marketing (let’s just say I have a love/hate relationship with social media…only there’s really very little love).

I’ve since expanded to hiring an Online Business Manager, Blair, who totally rocks, and who’s team helps streamline my business as well. Tasks like project management, client on- and off-boarding, customer service, social media, graphic design, and so much more are taken off my plate so I can focus on the things that only I can do like client delivery, content creation, discovery calls, business strategy, and marketing.

Talk about time freedom!

4. Repurposing Content

Instead of starting with social media posts as your content creation strategy, I recommend creating a piece of long-form content (something evergreen, that will stand the test of time), such as a blog, podcast episode, or a video.

From that 1 piece of long-form content, you can then create multiple social posts, as well as repurpose into things like a guide, e-book, lead magnet, webinar, and so much more.

Repurposing your content gives you so much more mileage out of everything you create so you’re not always having to constantly create.

It’s also important to reshare and repost content you’ve already shared. Remember humans learn best through repetition, so seeing the same message helps to cement learning. Plus, not everyone on your email list is going to read every email you write, nor will social media followers see every post, so don’t be afraid to repeat content you’ve already shared.

5. Asking before you create

For years, I would first create a new program, lead magnet, you name it, in my business before seeing if my audience even wanted it.

The result? LOTS of wasted time and energy creating stuff that often never left my computer or that didn’t quite have the sales I know it  could’ve had I really understood what my ideal clients wanted at that time.

I now ask my audience (through polls, surveys, ideal client conversations, and client interviews to really understand exactly what they want, what kind of support they want and need, and the kinds of investments they are willing to make.

My programs, offers, freebies, and courses now come out of the common questions and obstacles my clients are always sharing. They are built from what they are saying they want and WILL invest in.

This gives me such freedom to create what I know will be successful (or at least far more successful had I not done this market research).

So to see this strategy in action, I’d love to hear from you and what kind of support you want in building and growing your successful online coaching business…share your thoughts in this quick survey so I can serve you better!

There you have it, 5 strategies I’ve used to streamline and simplify my coaching business.

As you can see, gaining freedom in your coaching business isn't just a pipe dream—it's entirely possible with the right strategies in place. By niching down, investing in support, building a team, repurposing content, and asking before creating, I've been able to transform my business into a streamlined, efficient, and enjoyable venture.

I encourage you to take these strategies to heart and apply them to your own coaching practice. Remember, the path to a more liberated and successful business starts with small, intentional steps. So, what will your first step be?
